Cottage Cats

A little photo (and occasionally video) montage (in no particular order) of our two ginger-point Siamese kitty kats, Bear and Lily.  They were born on July 11, 2006, and they came to live with us when they were eight weeks old.  Ever since then, they've pretty much taken over the house, and have manipulated us into doing whatever they want us to do!!

Come back again soon - I'll be adding new photos as often as possible.

Click this link to send Bear and Lily a personal message.
I'll make sure they get it :o)

"Daddy, whatcha doing?"
(Lily being her usual curious self as Dean clears out under the porch)

Happy birthday to our sweeties (July 11)

Lily doing her 'happy dance' when we got home from being out all day - she's such a cutie :o)

Bear gets soooo excited when he manages to get one of his 'indoor' toys out the cat flap without us noticing.

if he doesn't get his treats he holds his breath until his head explodes!! :o)

I know she thinks she's a contortionist, but even Lily couldn't get her whole self in this box.

Bear found the perfect hiding place from Lily - up under the eaves of the house :o)

I just love how cats will squeeze themselves into any place they can get - this is a wicker basket that we have in the office - it's a tight fit, but Bear likes to be cozy :o)

we bought Lily and Bear one of those little red laser pointer toys for Christmas, and although Lily will play along with it for a little while occasionally, Bear has been the one that has developed a huge affection for Spot (that's what we've nicknamed the red dot :o).  It keeps Bear entertained for ages, bless his little heart :o)

Friends of ours gave them some catnip toys for Christmas (which they nagged me incessantly for until I gave in and let them open before Christmas!!) - they were extremely happy kitties.  After playing with it for ages, Bear just collapsed in a drugged stupor and used it as a pillow (bottom right photo) :o)

I've been trying to teach Bear to 'knock' to be let in - my hubby says it's more like he's teaching me to open the door (he's probably right!!! :)

Bear doing his morning stretches - getting his body ready for that 16 hour nap that's coming later :o)

Lily has commandeered the sofa throw.

Lily always finds the warmest spots.

This was taken a couple of days before we adopted them - how cute were they!!!

when they were kittens, they were inseparable.

Lily - ever the optimist :o)

Kat Kebabs anyone - don't worry, the stove top was cleaned thoroughly afterwards - I just couldn't resist taking a snapshot.

I can't believe they still have this little purple mouse after all these years - he's usually upstairs next to a blanket that Lily sleeps on.

Hug me....hug me NOW!!!

Cuddles.

Lily's our adventurous one.

people often think this is photo shopped, but it's not - Dean was inside the house tapping on the patio door to get their attention and I was outside with my camera shooting about 3 dozen shots, just to get this perfect 'bookend' one.

One comfy kitty.

I think I have a kitty foot fetish - I LOVE them!!!

our beautiful Lily girl - she's soooo pretty.

Bear being his usual inquisitive self.

....and again!

Bear, our cross-eyed boy.

gimme the toy.....gimme, gimme, gimme

"I'm being....mouse-like."

just waiting?  or ready to pounce?  I'm not so sure.

If I close my eyes, and hide behind this grass, they can't see me.

best seat in the house - Lily likes to look out at the wildlife, knowing that they can't get her.

Lily playing her didgeridoo.

I just love the little tufts of hair poking out of the holes!!!

Bear doing his favourite thing - sleeping.

as I was packing for a trip back to England, Lily decided that she wanted to come with me.

that's not very good camouflage Bear - I can see you.

Lily, the yoga cat.

'mouse' puppet on a string - Lily is so talented.

Lily our little hunter - I've lost count of how many times she brings in these little guys - at least 99% of the time their alive so that I can get them back outside safely.

Lily meditating in her flower garden (okay, among the weeds on the septic field!!!)

Daddy and his baby Bear.

not quite white enough to disappear in the snow.

I think the looks on their faces just about says it all, don't you?

Bear kisses.

the bird feeders are just too high, and the drop off the back porch just too far, but Bear still likes to think about it.
